‘History on the Hill: The Use and Abuse of History in the Political Process’

The History on the Hill workshop brings together a collection of eminent Australians from politics, the public service, journalism and the academy to consider the role of historical expertise in contemporary politics.

Join speakers including the Home Affairs Secretary Michael Pezzullo, the Conversation’s Michelle Grattan, writers James Button and Dennis Glover and historians Frank Bongiorno and Nicholas Brown for a one-day workshop that examines the ways in which history is used by politicians, and the ways that knowledge of the past can be better utilised in the policy-making process.
